Small Group Studies Via Zoom

For this year (2023-2024) we are doing our small group study in a book study format where we will read a book and meet to talk about it. The focus is books by non-white authors. It will be a mixture of memoirs pertaining to Christian faith and theology.

Youth and adults are welcome to be a part of our small group studies. We think that youth and adult are blessed by learning from each other. You can read more about why we do it that way here.

Here is the list of the book we will be doing:

September 13th: I’m Still Here Black Dignity in a World Made for Whiteness by Austin Channing Brown.

October 25th: A Black Theology of Liberation by James Cone

November 29th: Native: Identity, Belonging and Rediscovering God by Kaitlin Curtice

January 24th: Womanist Midrash by Wilda Gafney

February 28th: Rest is Resistance by Tricia Hersey

April 3rd: The Scandalous Message of James by Elsa Tamez

May 22nd: On the Side of the Poor: The Theology of Liberation by Gustavo Gutierrez and Gerhard Ludwig Muller

Our gatherings will be on Wednesdays at 1:00 on zoom. See our weekly enews or email Pastor Julie for the link.
