Rev. Dr. Ellen McCubbin
I grew up near Baltimore Maryland, the birthplace of Methodism. I graduated from Va Tech (Go Hokies) with a BS and MS in computer science. I started my career with IBM while working with youth ministry and teaching Bible studies in the local church. Over time, God changed my priorities. I graduated from Asbury Seminary with a MDIV and was ordained a United Methodist Elder in North Carolina. An Elder is basically a preacher and does not mean I am old! The dog in the picture is Barney, my constant companion and nag. He has been referred to as the “assistant pastor” in other churches, and you may encounter him praying in my office from time to time. I received my doctorate from Asbury Seminary with a concentration on interim ministry. An interim minister is one who is assigned to help a congregation in the midst of many different transitions a congregation may encounter.
I’m passionate about worship, Bible Study, and leading my church in serving our community. I look forward to meeting you!
Grace and Peace,
Pastor Ellen
