Meet the Evergreen United Methodist Church Staff
Donna M. Banks, Pastor
The church’s full-time pastor, the Rev. Banks is an ordained elder of the United Methodist Church, graduate of Duke Divinity School and the Birmingham Southern College in Birmingham, Alabama. She returned to Evergreen in June 2009, where she first served as a Duke Divinity School intern. Prior to being appointed to Evergreen, she served as Associate Pastor at Christ United Methodist Church, Chapel Hill, with responsibilities for Children and Family Services. She is married and the mother of two teenage daughters, and worked in the corporate world in positions ranging from a chemist to vice president prior to entering the ministry. Pastor Donna serves as a board member for the Chatham County Literacy Council and the United Methodist Foundation, Inc.
Tamsey Hill, Minister of Life Transformation
The Rev. Dr. Hill is a minister of the United Methodist Church who serves as a part-time volunteer. She assists with outreach ministries especially with the “Horizons” program, the Wednesday evening study program, worship (including regular sermons), and individual counseling. Rev. Hill works full-time in leadership roles at the Partners in Caring program at Duke University Medical Center and serves as staff chaplain. She is a graduate of North Carolina State University, Duke Divinity School, and Graduate Theological Foundation. She is married and has previously worked in various church related positions as well as in banking and real estate.
Assisting Staff: Evergreen employs nursery staff to provide care for pre-school children during Sunday worship, Sunday School, Wednesday evening, and special services.
Volunteers provide support services for church operations, services, and outreach programs.
